The Private Sector Commission and a large contingent of its member organisations today accepted ExxonMobil's invitation to visit it's Centre for Local Business Development. The members of the Commission were taken on a tour of the Centre by Mr. Patrick Henry, Project Director, and viewed a presentation on the work of the Centre which seeks to initially provide an interface between the local business community and the emergent oil and gas sector. The Company's priority is ensuring the participation of local businesses in the oil and gas sector and its nascent satellite industries. The Centre will therefore not only inform businesses about opportunities but will allow them to register as potential suppliers and will provide training to help them achieve the standards required, including standards of quality and safety. The members of the Private Sector Commission were enthusiastic about the opportunities available, especially in the area of training and the Commission undertook to lend its support to the Centre and to encourage its members to take advantage of the opportunities available.
