Facts on Guyana       

Guyana, officially named the Co-operative Republic of Guyana, is a tropical country situated on the northern coast of South America. It has an area of 214, 969 sq km (83,000 square miles) and is bound by the Atlantic Ocean on the north.Guyana is surrounded by Suriname to the east, Brazil to the south and southwest, and Venezuela to west.Culturally Guyana is more associated with the Caribbean than with Latin America and is the only English-speaking country in South America.

Guyana has a population of 747,884 (2012 census estimate) and has a very diverse population of six races of people.
